February 2026
The first stage of the project, Phase 1 - Concept and Feasibility, was completed in 2025. The project has received additional funding from the Department of Transport to proceed to Phase 2 Options Selection Stage, and a Preferred Option will now be identified on the completion of this Phase. The Option Selection process for the proposed Scheme will be undertaken in accordance with TII’s Project Management Guidelines, in combination with TII’s Project Appraisal Guidelines, and applicable regulations and guidance. Under this Phase of the Project a Public Consultation will be held through an Online Feedback Form from the 16th February – 30th March 2026. Public participation is welcomed and encouraged.
